More Than Just Beer - An Historic Presentation

Conservation Architect Lorne Simpson (Simpson Roberts Architecture Interior Design Inc) presents a review of Inglewood's former Calgary Brewing and Malting Co. industrial plant site. His presentation reviews the development and evolution of this industrial complex including aspects of the ownership, what was produced, growth and changes in the plant as it adapted to market conditions, government regulation of the industry, and the Cross family’s relationship to the community.

This unique and informative networking opportunity will feature a cashbar reception at 6:00 pm followed by Lorne's presentation at 6:30 pm and an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Hosted by Matco Investments Ltd, the presentation will be held in Inglewood at Venu1008, located adjacent to the former Brewery Site at 1008 - 14th Street SE.

This event is sold out, and there is a waiting list for tickets. See above for the link. Great to see such interest in the brewery site. This has been an active issue for the heritage community and the local community since the spring of 2009.
