A new report from Ontario touts the success of heritage conservation districts. Some kind of streetscape or neighbourhood-level protection would be welcomed by many in Calgary, and is theoretically allowed by the provincial Historic Resources Act and supported by the Calgary Heritage Strategy, but practical and policy barriers remain in place.
