The historic Mission Cycle building on 4th Street SW will soon be home to the Vin Room wine bar. The building was the home of Mission Cycle for many decades.

Excerpt:
M.J. What inspired you to open Vin Room?
P.F. My brother Ken and I actually made the decision over a fine bottle of wine in Houston, Texas. The space had been Mission Cycle for 79 years and it was such a fixture in the neighbourhood that I can't bear to tear down the cycle sign. The previous owner was planning to open a café, but I was luckily able to convince him that the Vin Room would be a better fit. I have always had a passion for food and wine and I believe that wine is an investment in precious moments; you are investing time with your friends and family. |
