I got some information on the top "wavy front" house courtesy of Britannia resident and former community president Karen Paul, who has done walking tours of the area and spoke to some local residents. The other house was not recognized and may be from another community.

"Wavy Front" House - was 4724 Britannia Dr SW, replaced in the mid 1990s by a new House Brand/John Brown house. It may have been the first original Britannia home to be replaced. The original home was owned by Dr A. (Sid) Gelfand (confirmed by Henderson's Directory 1960). This article describes Dr Gelfand as a stand up comedian. http://www.telusplanet.net/public/mcaplan/musical.htm.

According to a local long-time resident who spoke to Karen, the original house was designed by Dave Russell (former Alberta Deputy Premier, Minister of the Environment and Calgary Alderman). This is unconfirmed.
