"Calgary Urban Initiative (CUI) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization concerned with issues relating to the growth and development of Calgary. CUI was formed in 2004. Its members are diverse citizens who care about Calgary’s future development. It is our belief that Calgary is at a critical stage in its history and has the potential to grow into a truly great city. CUI advocates for issues critical to Calgary's future success including: inner-city and downtown development, urban design and planning policy, transportation issues, and sustainable outward growth. We aim to be a source of information on these issues for both public and media groups, work co-operatively with other similar organizations and be a strong voice for the improvement of Calgary."
