Learn about the 118,000 British Home Children who were sent to Canada between 1869 and 1939, often working as indentured farm workers and domestics. Karen Mahoney, Director of the British Home Children Advocacy and Research Association and author Sandra Joyce bring us the stories of this important part of our history, highlighting those stories from western Canada. Chinook Country Historical Society in partnership with Calgary Public Library is pleased to present this special program on a sometimes little known part of our history.
