CHI AGM with guest speaker Johanne Yakula April 18

We are pleased to invite you to the Calgary Heritage Initiative Society’s Annual General Meeting taking place on Thursday, April 18 at the historic Lougheed House (707 - 13th Avenue SW). Doors open at 6:30 pm and the program will begin at 7:00 pm (agenda below) There will be a cash bar and other refreshments.

Our guest speaker is Johanne Yakula, one of Alberta’s foremost experts on heritage interiors. She is an author, educator, speaker and heritage advocate. As the owner of From Times Past: Timeless Interiors and Antiques, Johanne specializes in working with residential and commercial clients who understand the importance of maintaining the integrity and character of heritage buildings.

Johanne sits on Edmonton’s Historic Resources Review Panel, is Vice President of the Highlands Historical Society (a neighbourhood heritage group in Edmonton), is a member of a new group, the Edmonton Heritage Homeowner Association., and past president of SPARE (Society for the Protection of Architectural Resources in Edmonton.)

Johanne is the author of "Historic Interiors of Alberta - A Guide to restoring and decorating your Heritage Home," and has written for publications including Legacy Magazine, Discovering Antiques, Edifice Magazine and Heritage Homes.
