Noon - At the Monuments to The Famous 5
The significant accomplishments of The Famous 5 will be celebrated at
noon on Thursday, October 18 at the monuments to The Famous 5 in
Olympic Plaza.
This entertaining one hour event will include spoken word poet
Sheri-D Wilson performing with Lin Elder on percussion; St. Sebastian
School Grade Four Children's Choir singing The Ballad of the Famous
Five; Calgary singer/songwriter Joni Deslaurier singing Because I Am A
Girl and singer/songwriter Carolyn Harley singing The Spirit of The
Famous Five.
Special guests will include local author and historian Nancy Millar
giving historical insights; and representatives of Calgary's own
Famous 5 Foundation.
Everyone is invited to wear a hat in honour of The Famous 5 and chat
with others about the significance of The Famous 5 in our lives today.
