Chinatown fire

Postby newsposter » Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:19 pm

(The January 25, 2010) fire in Chinatown destroyed an older brick building on the west side of Centre Street (211 Centre Street). It was not listed on the heritage inventory, but is reportedly close to 100 years old (unconfirmed). The most recognizable heritage buildings in Chinatown constitute the Canton Block, on the east side of Centre Street across from the fire, built in 1910-1911.
