Alberta Hotel to be designated/protected

On Monday May 25 City Council was to designate the Alberta Hotel on Stephen Avenue and 1st Street SW (home of Murietta's) as a Municipal Historic Resource. This would permanently protect the building, which is owned by Encorp - a company responsible for many building restorations in downtown Calgary, as well as Art Central and the upcoming Fashion Central.
