Postby newsposter » Mon Jul 09, 2007 9:52 am

The Bradley homestead cabin, a log cabin at 17th Avenue and 69th Street SW, destroyed by fire last weekend.

Jonathan Bradley built the property in the early 1890s after moving his family to Alberta from Ontario.

A total of 11 children, as well as Bradley's wife, Elizabeth, lived in the home until the couple sold it in 1907 and moved to Calgary.

Plans had been in place to restore the home before it burned down.

Arson investigators are looking into a fire in the southwest.
It started just after 11 o'clock Thursday night.
Police say the old two-story log building was built 110 years ago.
It had been moved from its existing foundation so a new foundation could be poured. Restoration work was planned for the building.
Police believe the fire was intentionally started.
