Here is information about the Lion Awards, including application information: http://www.calgary.ca/lionawards

The Calgary Heritage Authority (CHA) Lion Awards recognize individuals and groups who have undertaken initiatives, of any scale, in support of heritage conservation in Calgary. The Lions are presented biennially to celebrate the projects and people that have contributed to preserving Calgary’s heritage. Projects since June 2008 are eligible.

Do you know of a project, person or group that is deserving of recognition? Please consider if you, or a group you have been involved with, are eligible to enter a project in one of the six categories. Please pass this information on to anyone who might be interested in the Lion Awards.

This year’s categories are:

• Resource Conservation (including flood recovery)
• New Building Design
• Landscape
• Community Vitalization
• Advocacy and Awareness
• Heritage Tradespeople/Craftspeople

Historic conservation is part of good city building and community identity. Historic resources help us celebrate the stories, places, events and people who have shaped our communities. We encourage you to support and celebrate Calgary’s heritage with the Lion Awards.

:!: Apply by June 2, 2014.
