Public Art Policy review touches on heritage

Postby newsposter » Mon Dec 16, 2013 4:43 pm

A number of Councilors have put forward a proposal directing City Administration to review the City's Public Art Policy, related to the mandated expenditure of 1% of the value of infrastructure projects on public art. The motion passed with two opposed.

One of the items on the list to be reviewed: "amending the Policy for greater flexibility in the use of a portion of Public Art funding for the restoration and/or enhancement of on-site heritage assets." This might relate to things like the Eamon's Camp for example (related to the NW LRT and the Tuscany LRT station)...

The Notice of Motion is on the December 16 Council agenda, item 8.1.1
