I heard that there are plans in the works for next to develp Currie Barracks - I don't know if it's old enough to technically count as a heritage site, but I think it should. Does anyone know anything about what's going on with it?

Many of the Currie Barracks buildings and features have been designated heritage sites and will be preserved and re-used in the new development. Here is a link to the master plan for the site (PDF document).

There is currently some controversy about the possible loss of the popular Farmer's Market. For example see this story:
