New website - John and Adelaide Glenn

Postby trailmix » Sun Jul 09, 2006 1:09 pm

Hi,

I've started a webpage on John and Adelaide Glenn and their family. It can be viewed at www.johnglenn.ca

There is contact information at the bottom of the page for the Minister of Community Development, if you would like to express your views on rebuilding John Glenn's original House.

Thanks,

Maureen Marshall

Nice website
Do you have the address of the house that Adelaide lived in on 18th avenue?

Unfortunately no, I don't have an address, I was actually at the Glenbow yesterday and didn't find any further information on that. I will keep digging though!

Try this reference at the Local History Room of the downtown Calgary Public Library - it includes information on many of the early families and their homes in Mission:

Mittelstadt, David. A Social History of Cliff Bungalow – Mission. Calgary: Erlton Community Association, 1997. Call number 971.2338 MIT (Local History only)

Also, the Cliff Bungalow Mission Community Association has a copy of an extensive building survey done in the area. Let me know if you want the contact information.

Thanks for that info Bob, I will be visiting the library in the next week or two and will look that up. Much appreciated.
